Definitely a 5 star review! The host was super accommodating- even at the last minute and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The place is super cute and a great use of space. Lars has provided all the amenities you would need in a charming way. Highly recommend!

This was our second stay at Casita Gundry and it did not disappoint. Lars is a wonderful host! We were greeted with lovely treats upon our arrival. After being in the car all day, it was such a wonderful touch.  We love this charming place because it is pet friendly also. Our dogs, Max and Molly love it! We will definitely be back!

The casita was a perfect home base for a short weekend stay in Long Beach visiting family. It's in a wonderful location, great for walks and minutes away from Steelhead Coffee and the Blackbird Cafe. The casita was very clean and had everything we needed. (Favorite part was the tranquil, private back patio) Lars was an amazing host, super easy to communicate with, immediately responding to any questions and offering tips and suggestions on the neighborhood.

That’s the best Airbnb I’ve been to! Even though the house itself isn’t big , it was enough space for us (three adults and an infant). Everything in the house is so thoroughly decorated: from a detailed instruction book to small details like trash bags nearly stored in a separate bin. The patios are so good as well, we enjoyed evening dinners here! Can’t even describe everything that was so good at this house , one review isn’t enough for that thank you Lars!

We enjoyed our little staycation in the beautiful casita gundry! I was impressed by all the thought and care he put into every little detail! There was the welcome back in addition to cute frame signs throughout the house with helpful tips! We were invited to freshly baked cookies which were incredibly yummy! The bathroom was nicely stocked and I enjoyed a nice bubble bath in the cute old school bath tub! Then, my mom and I had a nice dinner in the charming outdoor patio. My dog meanwhile enjoyed running around in the big backyard! The lighter wasn’t working and Lars quickly came to help and he was even lovelier in person! In the morning, I was able to make breakfast with the available coffee/tea, eggs in the fridge, oatmeal, and the yummy fruit! I would definitely recommend this quiet, relaxing sanctuary if you’re in SoCal :)

The casita was so sweet and wonderful. We had a wonderful stay with the 3 of us girls. Walking distance to lots of good food and Lars provided us with many more options as well based on what we were interested in. The Casita is super cute and very comfortable. My besties and I needed a quick girls weekend to Southern California. We live in Vegas, so the drive is nothing. Lars is just the best host! He had everything so clean and ready for our arrival. Loved my stay at Casita Gundry! Every detail has been considered, and while the Casita is small, it has everything you could want. A/C worked perfectly. House was immaculately clean. Loved the contactless entry. Coffee pods and plenty of clean, nice dishes. Private back patio was shaded & quiet with citronella candles provided. Bathroom had all the amenities. It reminded me of boutique hotels in Tokyo, where they've mastered the art of offering superb hospitality when space is at a premium- you never feel lacking or like the space is "tight." Best of all, Lars left some yummy treats that I munched my way through. Can't recommend enough.

Lars was a fantastic host, and we appreciated the privacy he gave us, while still being available to answer any questions we had and give excellent recommendations.The casita was so cute and the extra touch of having basics in the fridge ready for us ( like eggs and water) alongside homemade cookies was much appreciated. The property also had a great park within walking distance which was important to us as a family. We will definitely book here again during our next trip!

From the artfully designed birthday message on the fridge & the amazing fresh pastries, cookies & fruit bowl to the helpful yet unobtrusive host, this was our best VRBO stay yet (and we are world travelers). Beautiful interior decoration & design & well appointed with high end toiletries, this was a 5 star experience in every way. So happy to have found a place to stay when visiting friends & family. Lars was a great host! The space is perfect for a family who needs a basecamp to sleep and out to enjoy Long Beach. He thought of every little touch including the jar of homemade cookies and fresh pastries, a great touch and talked about daily by my 9 & 12 year olds. It is pet friendly with a great yard to roam & patio for the family to enjoy. We’ll definitely be back our next visit to SoCal!

Our stay at Casita Gundry was exactly what we were looking for. It was a quiet and very clean casita surrounded by many places to explore but had a scent that it made us so comfortable enough to stay in, had a private patio that I fell in love with, had instructions to everything and also delicious treats. Lars was very helpful, offered his assistance and made sure we had everything we needed. The place had it all. Will most definitely be coming back in the future :) ( here you won’t have to worry about bringing your own pillows to sleep in, the beds come with plenty very clean and will make you feel like home) thank you Lars!=)

We loved our stay! The air bnb is charming, perfectly organized and so clean, and the patio is even larger than appears in photos, perfect sun and place to relax. Lars was so accommodating and helpful throughout our trip. We will definitely be back. (Oh and our dog loved it too!)

My wife and I recently stayed here, Lars was very friendly and the Casita was amazing! It’s a nice and cozy place conveniently located a short drive from the beach. Checking in and out couldn’t have been easier, and everything was perfectly set up for a very comfortable stay. 10/10 would recommend, can’t wait to go back!

did little to no work. The neighborhood was awesome. Super nice and quiet and most of all made us feel safe. We did not interact with the host much but we knew they were there if we need them. They left fresh baked goods for us to come home to which was so thought! The place was super clean and had absolutely everything we needed. Nothing was missing and we had nothing to complain about. I loved how we had our own parking space and our own entrance. Although it was a little crowded because it was 5 of us but we made it worked! We also read in the description so we knew it was going to be a little tight but if you’re okay with spending most of your time at the place in the backyard then this spot is it!! we had dinner in our back yard space and it was so nice. I’m so happy we stayed here and most of all how we got treated. I would definitely recommend this place!!

I wish I could give Casita Gundry 10 stars! From start to finish, it was a wonderful experience! The casita is beautiful and Lars has included so many special treats along the way.Our doggies were so at home and loved the backyard space. The claw foot tub was a special event, not just for me, but, for my husband as well.  So luxurious! My husband, 2 teen daughters, and I stayed at the casita with our pups. Lars is an amazing host and anticipated our every (Website hidden by Airbnb) much so that we did not want for anything! The space is beautifully decorated and well appointed. We enjoyed dining and playing cards in the private patio space. The home is located in a super charming neighborhood. We look forward to future stays in this gem.

Amazing, cozy, clean place! Lars did a great job with the thoughtful decorations and details; the place had all the basic needs of a small apartment and definitely more than what a hotel has. A colleague and I stayed there for a week and it was nice to come back to a safe and inviting place without having to worry about looking for parking for 2 cars. Wish we could have enjoyed the awesome back patio more! Lars was very communicative, accommodating, and gracious. Lars and his place deserves more than 5 stars!

We enjoyed our weekend stay at the casita. It has just about every amenity you could think of, which made it feel more like being on vacation in a hotel. The fenced yard was really nice to have for our dog, and the apartment was the perfect size for the two of us plus our small pup. Everything was clean and worked well, and the place is super cute and romantic. I wasn't sure whether the kitchen had an oven, but it does have a small (microwave-size) one. So you could plan to do some cooking if you wanted to (there are some pots, pans, and cooking utensils). The location is convenient, about 10-15 minutes to just about anything in Long Beach. The owner was very communicative and provided clear instructions on everything. We loved the homemade cookies!

Casita Gundry is such a gorgeous home!!! The decor is divine and Lars has simply thought of everything; from spaces to hang and place all of our belongings to every kitchen and bathroom extra!! The outdoor spaces are lovely and everything is so comfortable!! We also loved being welcomed with the most delicious cookies and being treated so well as guests by Lars! He checked in to make sure we had everything we needed! Truly an amazing stay! We can’t wait to return!

Lars welcomed my terrier, Frasier, and I with warmth and humor and a jar full of fresh baked cookies! We had an extended stay of three weeks due to construction at my home. At the end of that time I was actually a little sad to leave as it was so comfortable and felt like home. Frasier had a large yard to explore that was secure. We also had a private patio to entertain a guest in. Lars was the perfect host! He was very accommodating and personable. I highly recommend Casita Gundry!

This was the absolute perfect and exactly what I was looking for and needed during my stay. It was peaceful, quiet, quaint and clean. Lars was an amazing host. He went above and beyond for me at such a short notice. If your looking for something small, charming, quite, peaceful, safe place to stay I highly recommend this little oasis. I felt like I was Cameron Diaz from the movie "The Holiday" where she and Kate Winslet switch homes to Get away and breath for a few days......

OMG! We have stayed in tons of rentals and this place went above and beyond. We just came in for one night to crash and all the little touches and communication with Lars made us feel so at home. Traveling with kids during Covid can be hectic and it felt so nice to come to a place that felt like home. I would highly recommend staying here!

This is the best Airbnb I’ve ever booked. When I arrived accessing the home was easy, there where home made cookies (best cookies I’ve had in a long time), and everything was provided in the home, to make it feel like home. There was even fresh fruit. I utilized every part of the house and it was perfect. I asked Lars if we could have some new towels as well and he provided them within minutes with no problem at all. Can’t even explain how great this place is, definitely book this home!! 5 stars all the way around.

Such a cute little space! Lars was a great host and very helpful and inviting. The cookies, fruit, waters, and coffees were much appreciated! The space was very clean and comfortable. There is not really a common area inside to socialize, but the outdoor space outside was perfect and we enjoyed the seating and nature. We utilized the kitchen area and it was great. The bathroom is clean and the tub is gorgeous! All in all, this is a lovely place to stay and we’ll definitely be back soon! Thank you Lars!

This the cutest little home! I stayed with my daughter & her husband. There is a full-sized bed in front bedroom & bunkbeds in the 2nd room. The bottom bunk is full-sized, sleeps 2 and, if needed, also converts into a sofa. The Casita is tastefully decorated. As long as you are not the type to "spread out", it's perfect for a cozy stay. There is a small kitchen: refrigerator, 2-burner stove, microwave, toaster - all you need for a light breakfast or reheat leftovers. With nice weather, enjoy your coffee on the patio. The beds are comfortable and the linens are to die for! You can just sink into the softness & relax. It is an extremely quiet neighborhood. (Be sure to set the alarm if you have an appointment in the morning!)The Casita is located close to the LB airport & within minutes to 405 or 710 freeways. It's in a lovely neighborhood. Grocery store is nearby, as is a CVS & Walgreen's. I have family in the area and this was a perfect home to be nearby but not underfoot. It's not a cookie-cutter hotel room: no elevator noise, no upstairs neighbor stomping on floor. Peaceful. That's a quality that cannot be said about many venues. The owner lives in the home in front & you'd never know he was home. (He's a stealth ninja!) Lars provided coffee, tea, creamer. He even bakes cookies! With all the craziness of family Thanksgiving, Casita Gundry was the best choice I could have made for a 3-day stay. I will definitely book another stay!

Our stay in the casita was fantastic! Located in a historical home district of Long Beach, the owners Lars has created a beautiful little getaway casita. Small but very well equipped with everything we needed. We took our twins to their 1st trip to Disneyland for their 5th birthday, then ended our trip with 3 days in the casita for some beach time and relaxation. Lars was extremely helpful in every way, kept in contact with me about everything! I am a big cook and was able to cook a great family meal while our children played and watched movies. All the great beaches and shopping were within about 15 minutes of drive time, making it easy for a day at the beach the ability to come back and cook a meal.The upgrades and details Lars made for the casita were fantastic. When you travel and stay in someone else’s home you wonder if you will have what you need and if you will be comfortable, no worries here, you feel right at home. Thank you Lars for creating such a place to call home for a vacation , we will be back for sure!

Excellent hôte, très disponible et très à l'écoute. Il nous a donné de précieux conseils quant à notre séjour et nos déplacements. Nous avons trouvé une maisonnette très charmante et cosy, très joliment décorée et très bien aménagée. Avec notamment des serviettes de plages, des serviettes de douches de très bonne qualité lavées à la demande aussi souvent que demandé, ainsi que des produits d'excellente qualité. A notre arrivée nous avons eu l'agréable surprise de trouver diverses attentions offertes de la part de Lars : de l'eau, des jus de fruits, des fruits frais ainsi que des pâtisseries et cookies, etc.. Nous recommandons vivement cet hébergement. C'est un quartier très tranquille et familial très bien desservi par les transports publics, ainsi que de nombreux cafés. Si vous souhaitez passer une excellente expérience a proximité de Los Angeles et de l'océan c'est l'adresse parfaite.

What a fabulous host! Lars truly made my family and I feel welcomed. It was my family's first time in California therefore we needed to hit the main spots in four days. I loved how the location was pretty much in the center of the popular destinations but far enough from the hustle and bustle. The casita is absolutely amazing! Although small, it has so much charm. Lars made sure we were taken care of and also provided us with privacy. Definitely recommend!

Lars is a amazing host if not the best host I've ever experienced with using Airbnb. He was extremely thoughtful, helpful, and communcative getting my family settled who was traveling from Texas. I will definitely refer others to your place if they are visiting long beach or going to catalina. It was very close to the port as well.

Lars was a great host - the host with the most. Beyond my expectations. I can tell Lars thought of every detail and thought of how to make our stay very comfortable and relaxing. The casita had an abundance of clean towels, clean linen and pillows. Not to mention the special touches like an ironing board and hair dryer. The soaking tub was amazing and Lars had bubbles ready for us to enjoy the tub. The place is very charming, clean and quiet. The bed is very comfortable. I will definitely book this casita again sad he’s booked through mid-May. Would’ve liked to have booked a sooner stay.
